How to draw a shark

The final drawing of a shark

Hello, Oceanic Doodlers! Today, we're diving deep beneath the waves to sketch one of the ocean's most iconic creatures – the shark!

Step 1

Start with a triangular shape that resembles a Pringles chip.

Step 2

Add more curvy triangles for each of her fins.

Step 3

Add a few circles for her eyes, a nostril for smelling blood, and a line for her mouth.

Step 4

Add a bunch of tiny triangles along her lip and then give her a line to separate her belly.

Step 5

Fill in that lovely shark with grays, blues, or whatever color you feel like! And don’t forget her beady little eyes.

I don’t wanna cross that doofy shark!

Let's fin-ish off with some jaw-some shark facts.

  1. Sea Royalty: Sharks are often referred to as the 'kings of the sea.' With over 500 species, these powerful predators have been ruling the oceans for over 400 million years!

  2. Built for Speed: Some sharks, like the shortfin mako, can swim up to 60 miles per hour. Talk about a speedy doodle subject!

  3. Sixth Sense: Sharks have a special sixth sense called electroreception that allows them to detect the electrical signals emitted by other animals. Super-shark senses for the win!

  4. Endless Teeth: Sharks continuously shed and replace their teeth, with some species going through up to 30,000 teeth in their lifetime. Imagine the tooth fairy visits!

  5. Huge Size Range: The smallest shark is the dwarf lantern shark, which can fit in your hand, while the largest, the whale shark, can grow up to 40 feet long!

Remember, at DoofyDoodles, we're about having fun and embracing the process of creating, no matter the subject. Stay tuned for more drawing guides and fun facts or you can visit our Goodies page for some more drawing lessons!
