How to draw an airplane

The result of the airplane drawing

Sky-high Salutations, Doodle Devotees! Today we're taking off into the blue yonder to sketch a symbol of human innovation – the airplane!

How to draw an airplane - step 1

Step 1

Add two circles and two lines to connect them, like a hotdog. This is the plane’s body.

How to draw an airplane - step 2

Step 2

Add a couple of sticks poking out of the body for the start of its wings. Add a cone shape at the top for the plane’s nose and add some sunglasses because they’re cool.

Step 3

Add a curved line to the nose, a cool mouth, new lines to finish off the wing shapes, and some little pieces hanging off the wings. If you were wondering, those are called Flap Track Fairings.

Step 4

Add the engines to the front of things wings, some lines on the wings for painting, some windows along the cabin, and a glare on his cool sunglasses.

Step 5

Now color your airplane any way you like! Go for a nice silver-blue or really bend the rules and paint it neon pink.

Now that’s a plane that I’d definitely feel safe on!

Let's take flight with some amazing airplane facts.

  1. Invention Icons: The Wright Brothers are credited with inventing and flying the first successful airplane in 1903. That's a lofty achievement!

  2. Shapes and Sizes: Airplanes come in all shapes and sizes, from tiny one-seater propeller planes to the enormous double-decker Airbus A380.

  3. Speedy Skies: The fastest airplane in the world is the NASA X-43, which can travel at a whopping Mach 9.6. That's almost 7,346 mph!

  4. Sky High: Commercial airplanes typically fly at an altitude of about 35,000 feet. That's nearly 7 miles above the Earth's surface!

  5. Travel Titans: More than 4 billion passengers are transported by airlines each year. Imagine how many doodled passengers your airplane could hold!

Here at DoofyDoodles, we're not just about doodling, we're about having fun and learning. So let's lift our spirits high and sketch an amazing airplane! Stay tuned for more drawing guides and fun facts or you can visit our Goodies page for some more drawing lessons!
